I am a general litigator, practicing primarily in the areas of family, employment and personal injury law. Since being called to the British Columbia Bar in 2016, I have appeared with considerable success before several administrative tribunals, and at every level of court in British Columbia. I take care to provide frank advice, creative solutions, and ultimately cost-effective outcomes for my clients, both inside and outside the courtroom.
Before being called to the Bar, I completed internships with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Prisoners Legal Services, and Hukumonline – Indonesia’s premier legal information provider. In these roles, I summarized complex and disparate areas of law for clients that included prisoners, companies, law firms, ministries, agencies and other domestic and global institutions. I then completed a Master of Law (LLM) at the University of Calgary, and a thesis-paper entitled “Taking an Interest in Land – Comparing Mainstream and Aboriginal Takings Regimes”. I take pride in this diverse training, which has augmented my research and drafting skills, and improved my competence as a lawyer.
Before completing my law degree at the University of British Columbia in 2010, I competed as an amateur and then professional triathlete. I won a bronze medal at the National Triathlon Championships, a silver at an International Triathlon Union points race (Bogota, Colombia), and qualified for the World Triathlon Championships three times. I now apply this same level of drive and commitment in my law practice.
I am happy to join the ZVM team and collaborate with my colleagues to meet the firm’s vision for our clients.
